In May 1997
Daisy was elected to the Canadian Society of Painters in watercolours.
She is a native Albertan, and along time resident of Guelph. She has
studied with many well known artists. throughout Canada and the united
states. her work has been accepted in juried exhibitions and she has won
many awards. she currently shows at the Kloepfer gallery, Barber gallery
and the MacDonald Stewart centre as well as the artisans store in the
Quebec Street mall.
She was the sole artist for the 1991-92 Gideon
international calendar, and Carlton Cards purchased one of her paintings
for the Mount Siani Hospital Gala Invitation.
In 1994, Big Sister Calendar featured one of her
floral paintings. she was a first prize winner at the 1994, 1995, and
1997 Painting on the Green juried show and was "Guest Artist" at the
show in 1998. She won awards in 1999 and 2001 as well as the "Jurors
Choice" award at Cross Section (COAA) which was featured in the
International Artists magazine in April/May 2004. 2006 and 2007 she won
honourable mention prizes. 2008 and 2009 first prizes at the painting on
the Green show in Guelph.
Daisy has enthusiastically contributed to the
community over the years by serving on the executive of both the Guelph
Creative Arts and the Central Ontario Arts Association.
