Marlene was born and
educated in the UK. She studied architecture at the College of Art and
Architecture in Canterbury. She has practiced architecture in the UK and
Canada, but retired from that profession when she switched to fine art.
She has taught numerous workshops in watercolour painting for various
institutions in North America, the West Indies and the UK. She is past
director of the Southampton Art School and the Elora Summer School. She
now paints full time at her home studio. She loves to paint urban and
rural scenes outdoors all year round using the acrylic medium in a style
that could be described as colourful and impressionistic.
